Early Days of Dussling Fine Finishes

Who knew that a hobby would turn into a new career, profession and lifestyle.

Dussling Fine Finishes began in December 2014.  Susanna was looking for a way to update her own furniture; however, she was on a severe budget.  After all, she was in between jobs because she was “let go” from her position in retail management.

Since it was stressful looking for a job, she needed a way to express her frustration.  She began to paint furniture.  She  started with her own kitchen table and chairs.  Right away, Susanna used specialty finishes.  She did not like the look of just ” painted furniture.”  Thus, she antiqued and distressed this table.

Then, she began to paint other furniture.  She advertised on Craig’s List.  Her first item a headboard was sold and that customer commissioned her to refinish a bedroom suite to match the headboard.

Hope and Happiness Vintage Furniture has been born.  Since those humble beginnings, it has grown tremendously.  We began to do more custom work, participate in local vintage shows, and teach many others how to paint their own furniture.

Now, Hope and Happiness Vintage Furniture is rebranded as “Dussling Fine Finishes.”  We continue to grow our presence in the Houston area with showrooms that sell both furniture and home decor For Sale within 3 shops:

  • Texas Jack Rabbit Emporium in Magnolia, Texas
  • Granny’s Korner in Tomball, Texas
  • BOOTH S6 at the Antique Gallery of Houston in Spring, Texas

Our next goal is to create a shopping cart within  http://www.dusslingfinefinishes.com so you can shop from the comfort of your home.

Thank you for your business.
